Bluebell Nursery

Bluebell Nursery is part of the Tilston Parochial Primary School and many of the routines and practices are covered by whole school policies including Special Educational Needs, Health and Safety and Safeguarding amongst others. On this page, parents can find pre school specific policies and information. If there is any question you have on procedures or practice and you can not find the answer within our Policies section, then please don't hesitate to speak with a member of our staff or the Headteacher.

BLUEBELL NURSERY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Admission will be on a termly intake basis and will be at the start of the term following the child’s 3rd birthday.  Priority will be given to provide the Statutory Nursery School Entitlement of 15 hours per week.

Staffing

The Nursery will be staffed by a fully qualified Teacher and Teaching Assistant/s, and by two members of the school staff at lunchtime.  Staffing and session planning will be arranged to provide equality for morning and afternoon sessions.

Please note we require a 2-session minimum requirement.

The free entitlement is up to 15 hours per week and may be taken across a combination of sessions, with a minimum of 6 hours per week. If the full entitlement is not taken each week there will be no accrual of hours to be taken at a later date. If less than 15 hours per week are taken in Bluebell Nursery, then the remaining hours may be used with an alternative provider. You may be entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare if you meet certain conditions. See https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/free-childcare-and-education-for-2-to-4-year-olds for more information.

Flexibility is available but additional hours above the 15 hours per week free entitlement will only be agreed on a termly basis, in order to fulfil our obligation to provide the Statutory Entitlement to each intake throughout the academic year.  If the requested additional hours can no longer be accommodated, notification will be made no less than four weeks prior to the start of a new term.  Requests to change a child’s pattern of attendance will require a term’s notice.  Requests for extra sessions as a “one-off” will be considered if the session pupil numbers allow, and your request should ideally be made with 48 hours’ notice.  You will be billed separately for these sessions.

There may be occasions when the Nursery School will need to be closed to facilitate promotional activities or staff training.  You will be notified in advance, and fees charged for the session (if applicable) will be refunded.

Lunch

Lunch, if required, will be provided by the school’s catering service (Edsential).  A packed lunch is also an option.  The charge for lunch will be in line with the rate set by Edsential and will be payable separately.  Any dietary requirements must be clearly stated on the Admission Form.

Charging

All additional hours taken above the 15 hours per week free entitlement will be charged at a rate of £5.50 per hour (reviewed annually). The charges will be calculated and invoiced on a half-termly basis. If payment is not received, unfortunately, it will be necessary to reduce the hours provided to the Statutory Entitlement of 15 hours per week.

There will be no refunds in respect of missed sessions due to sickness, holidays, or other family occasions, as staffing costs are contractual and constant.

The charge for lunch will be £3.10 and will be reviewed annually in line with rates set by Edsential catering.  Payment is due in advance. Where meals are paid for but not taken due to absence, credit will be given. We encourage all payments to be made online.
