'Encourage one another and build eachother up.' Thessalonians 5:11

Tilston School has Church of England Controlled Status. This means the school functions within the partnership of the Church and the Local Education Authority, with its Christian ethos being central to the school.

Worship at daily school assemblies is linked with the doctrines of the Church of England. The children are encouraged to take an active role in collective worship. As a Church of England school, emphasis is placed upon the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the beliefs and practices of Christianity in particular, as well as other world religions. All pupils are encouraged to respect the beliefs and values of others and to express their own opinions in a thoughtful and reflective way.

Our core values:

RESPECT

TRUST

COMMUNITY

FRIENDSHIP

JOY

COURAGE

We have a team of 5 Y6 Worship Leaders.  Each week the Worship Leaders contribute to delivering Collective Worship, with one person taking the lead as The Vicar's Assistant.  The Vicar's Assistant lights the candles at the start of worship and reads our daily prayer.  They also write their own prayer which is shared with our families on our weekly newsletter.

Collective Worship

We follow the Imaginor Roots and Fruits scheme for Collective Worship.  We have a two year cycle focusing on a value each half term.  We use the Windows, Mirrors and Doors approach to enable us to understand, reflect and respond.

Our value this half term is Thankfulness.
